Harun Hazar is a director and creative director from Berlin,
based in Hamburg, Germany.
His specialty as director are documentary commercials:
He loves setting the scene for real-life heroes and putting people’s passions into the spotlight. His sensitivity when working with non-actors enables them to quickly gain trust and lose their distance and nervousness.
Harun works as concept developer and head of moving images for major agencies. He was responsible for the audiovisual communication in several successful mega pitches, such as the VW and EON campaign won by DDB.
Harun dedicated his life to film and music - inspired at an early age by his father, a passionate Saz-player and cineaste. He took to the stage as front singer in several bands,
and completed his training as media designer for image and sound in Hamburg in 2001.
In 2007 he graduated with honors from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, majoring in directing. He now lives with his family in Hamburg.
Last but not least, Harun has been teaching film design for the bachelor's program "Digitial Film Production" at the SAE Institute Hamburg for more than ten years. It gives him great pleasure to satisfy the thirst for knowledge shown by the next generation of filmmakers.
